tak O design studio is an architecture + interior design studio based in Kirkland, WA. Our design language is grounded on the modernist vocabulary, focusing on materiality, regionalism, imagination and a sense of place. We focus on designing space intent on engaging the senses of the body, connecting the inhabitant to the architecture and it's surrounding landscape.

The principal, Takeshi Okada is a LEED accredited professional and holds an architectural license in Washington State, New York and New Jersey. Prior to founding tak O design studio, Takeshi Okada worked closely with Charles Gwathmey and Robert Siegel at Gwathmey Siegel and Associates Architects. His experience also includes work with Lise Anne Couture and Hani Rashid at Asymptote Architecture.

Our background is greatly varied - from museums and libraries to tiny 90 SF houses. Every project, no matter what size, is a welcome challenge. Each design solution is uniquely created through the client's goals and its context.
